Dana Fields Obituary

Dana Fields August 5, 1925- July 21, 2024

KINGSPORT - Dana Fields, who would have been 99 on August 5th, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home in Kingsport. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army with the 178th Engineer Combat Battalion in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. He was a member of Edgewood Methodist Church in Rogersville.

He was preceded in death by wife, Marie Fields; parents, Roscoe and Mary Bell Fields; and 5 siblings, John Fields, Wayne Fields, J.B. Fields, Mary Fields, and Gladys Williams.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Rogers and husband, Fred of Kingsport, and Kathi McCarver and husband, Marshell of Hixson, TN; grandchildren, Jared Rogers, Joshua Rogers, John Rogers, and Brittany McCarver; great-grandchildren, Shane, Morgan, and Iyla Rogers; and great-great-grandsons, Carter Colton, Aubree and Ace Orange.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Friday, July 26, 2024 at Christian Sells Funeral Home. A military graveside service will follow immediately after the visitation at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Rogers, Joshua Rogers, John Rogers, Marshell McCarver, Charles Dana Richardson, Shane Rogers, and Fred Rogers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rogersville American Legion. Online condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com.
