ROGERSVILLE - Danny "Dan" Eugene Trent, age 74, of Rogersville, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of Thursday, February 22nd. He was saved in 1981 and was a faithful member of Grassy Springs Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined. His hobby was birdwatching. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivis and Mary Slater Trent, brother Gary Trent, grandparents, George and Kate (Granny) Slater and John and Zanie Trent, mother and father-in-law, Elmo and Johnnie Barner.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Kathy Hurd Trent of the home, sister Barbara Lutz, brothers, Bruce Trent and wife Judy and Roger Trent, all of Rogersville, four nieces and four nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Hancock Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care they administered to Dan.
Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Porter and Rev. Danny Trent officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Highland Cemetery.
