David Greer Obituary

SURGOINSVILLE - David Haynes Greer, age 83, of Surgoinsville, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at home after a period of declining health. David worked as a skilled electrician for many years, having done extensive electrical work for the VA and for Short Mountain Silica. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses several years ago. He enjoyed talking to others about God's promises for the future as best as he could.

He was born in 1939 to Howard and Blanche Greer who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by sister, Ossie (Bea) Greer; brothers, Herman Greer and George Greer; son, Michael Greer; and infant daughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dolly Greer; sons, Raymond Greer, Robert (Wendy #1) Greer, and David (Wendy #2) Greer Jr.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara Jean Anderson; sister-in-law, Faye Greer.                                             

Memorial service for David will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 2:30 pm with visitation starting at 2:00 pm. Online condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com.
