David Hensley Obituary

KINGSPORT - David "Mike" Malcolm Hensley, 70, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 6, 2023. Mike attended Central High School and East Tennessee State University. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Mike was someone you could always count on to lend you a hand, his truck, or his good ear. He loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his neighbors. Being a devoted dad, grandfather, brother, and uncle was something that he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskett Wayne Hensley, Elsie Mae Carr Hensley; sisters, Jeannie McNutt and Jody Hensley; and nephew, Kenny Hensley.

Mike is survived by his family, Melissa Hensley, Sharyn and Ron Hensley, and Sheila and Eddie Knight; his children, Leslie and Pete Hensley, Rebecca and Jason Dunavant, and April and Stewart Hensley; grandchildren, Jayson, Jessica, Sara, Brooke, Ashley, Jesse, and Jake; and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
