CHURCH HILL – David Owen Moore, 79, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, after complications from a fall.
David was born on December 7, 1943. He was raised in Clintwood, VA, graduated from Clintwood High School, and moved to Kingsport shortly after high school. He worked as a meat cutter at several grocery stores, worked at Meade Corporation, then went to work and retired from Kroger. David loved flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, and fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Helen Moore; and his nephew, Steve Moore.
David is survived by his wife Lyn; stepson, Tony Alley (Ana); stepdaughter, LeAnne Himes (Jason); step grandchildren, Valerie, Joey, Tori, Danica, and Tyler; step great-granddaughters, Nadia, and Eevee; brothers, Paul Moore, and Danny Moore (Shelby); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch Russell and Dr. George Milum Testerman officiating.
