David Michael Shadeed November 24, 1956 - August 27, 2024
ALPHARETTA, GA - David Michael Shadeed, 67, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on August 27, 2024, after an impressive, lengthy, and gutsy fight against cancer. He is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. David was a cherished member of the community, known for his engaging personality, motivating spirit, and giving nature. He was a devoted family man, an avid golfer, and a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. David attended Alpharetta Methodist Church, where his positive outlook on life touched many.
Born and raised in east Tennessee, David graduated from Ketron High School before continuing his education at East Tennessee State University, where he earned a nursing degree. While at ETSU, he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, serving as its President. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Ellen.
David built a successful career in pharmaceutical and oncology sales, where he was highly regarded for his dedication and expertise in helping patients and healthcare providers. He was also a dedicated coach for his children's sports teams, passing on his love for competition and teamwork.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Shadeed, Jr. and Teressa Shadeed Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Minga Shadeed; his son, Michael Shadeed; his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Tom Keel, and his beloved granddaughters, Megan, Kelsey, and Hannah, who lovingly called him "Papa"; his stepdad, Vernon Smith; his siblings, Robin Eisenbise (Mark), Eddie Shadeed (Geri), and Chad Smith (Gail); and multiple nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate David's life will be held on Friday, August 30th, at 2 pm at Alpharetta Methodist Church, located at 69 N Main St, Alpharetta, GA 30009.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in David's name to Alpharetta Methodist Church or to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (LLS.org). David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Ellen and the family, his siblings and Vernon Smith.
I grew up behind David or "the Shadeed´s" as we used to say. The "Skinners" lived beside him. David ,Helen Skinner and I would visit and hang out, play in the streets together with all the other kids in the neighborhood ,I always had fond memories of David. Many times he, Helen and I would just hangout on his front porch talking.
It was a wonderful neighborhood to grow up in. We lived in "the BIG circle" and David lived in the "LITTLE circle " that was in the middle. Our backyard and David´s backyard met so there was a worn path to his house and to "the Skinner´s " house.
All the neighbors had lots of kids and we all had the best time going in and out of each others homes and roaming the neighborhood, walking to Aldeen´s store or the Desta Cup for ice across from Ketron High School. Those were good days, a long forgotten way of life.
He and I lost contact after high school but I do remember being so impressed that he´d gotten a nursing degree and had done well in the pharmaceutical industry. It was unusual for a man at that time to get a nursing degree but he blazed a trail that is normal to see today.
He and I touched base a couple of years ago on FB. I always got a laugh out of his humorous cartoon posts.
Please know that I and my brothers are praying for you and your family during this time. With fond memories of David and the "Shadeed´s",
Doug,Dennis,Wesley and Joe Robbins
