KINGSPORT - David "D.L." Worrell, 60, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his residence.
He was born June 3, 1962, in Princeton, WV.
David was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother who worked hard to meet the needs of his family.
He was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan. David loved animals and enjoyed playing the guitar, watching old horror movies, and eating spicy foods.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillard and Edith Rose.
Those left to cherish David's memory are his children, Christy Bowan, Jessica Burker and Brandon Worrell; four grandchildren; mother, Aloma Jones Ashworth (Tom); father, David Paul Worrell (Tanny); special sister, Anna Jerrolds; sisters, Shannon and Kari; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mikel Caywood officiating.
Military honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 will follow at 2:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
