Deanna Rhea Light Goad

KINGSPORT - Deanna Rhea Light Goad, 66, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Deanna was born on July 2, 1959, in Kingsport, where she remained a lifelong resident; she was the second eldest of four siblings. After graduating from Sullivan West High School in 1977, she immediately began her career with Eastman Chemical Company. She would go on to retire after 40 years of hard work and faithful service. Deanna enjoyed living the "farm life" and being outdoors. She had a great love for horses and going four-wheeling. Her family meant the world to her, especially her granddaughters.

Deanna was preceded in death by her son, Brian Wayne Light and her father, James Garfield Light.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Mable Bell Light; daughter, Jessica McDavid; sisters, Sharon Light (Glen) and Lesia Jobe (Larry); brother, Eddie Light (Connie); granddaughters, Mercedes McDavid (Dylan) and Morgan McDavid; daughter-in-law, Donna Light and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Deanna's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. in her honor to continue the fight.
