CHURCH HILL - Dennis Ray Bishop, age 70, of Church Hill was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. He gave his life to the Lord over 30 years ago and was a dedicated member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church. He loved his church and church family.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Caudill; father, Elmer Bishop; and grandsons, Josh Bishop and Kenneth Carr.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sylvia Bishop; his children, Nicole Birchfield, Dennis Bishop Jr., Michael Morelock, Michael Bishop, April Morelock, Angie Belew and Heather Dixon.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Allen McMillan and Associate Pastor Jamie Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers serving the family are, James, Scott, Tyler, Brayden, Calvin and Jacob, along with Honorary Pallbearer, Michael Morelock.
