Donald Lester Haren June 28, 1937- June 30, 2024
FALL BRANCH - Donald Lester Haren, 87, of Fall Branch, crossed over the Jordan River in the late hours of June 30, 2024, at his home. Don was born June 28, 1937, in Greene County to the late Herman (Booty) and Onna Haren; he was one of ten siblings. He worked until retirement in the retail wholesale hardware industry. Don was known for finding joy in the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing. Don loved spending his mornings with friends at breakfast clubs. He was a devoted member of Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he taught senior men's Sunday school class for many years. Don will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Wimpy, Dale and Ray Haren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Donna Hansen (John); son, Tim Haren (Kendra); siblings, Fred Haren, Buster Haren (Tammy), Lynn Haren (Crystal), Katie Jones (Dan), Sammy Haren (Lynn) and Sandra Hayes (Randy); grandchildren, Tyler Haren (Taylor) and wife, Jessie, Joshua Hansen and Sarah Hansen Jones (Jason); special great-grandson, Walker Haren; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and many good friends.
The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch Chapel on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm. A funeral service officiated by cherished friend, Pastor Wade McAmis, will follow at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Friday, July 5th, 2024 at 11:00am. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet no later than 10:45am at the church.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hansen, Tyler Haren, Hunter Haren, Matthew Haren, Stanley Hall and Gary Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Crawford, Dennis Ryans, Freddie Haren, Chris Haren, Bryan Haren, Lyle Compton and Johnny Bradley.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethesda Cemetery Fund, Attn: Sherry Good 1197 Cabot Cove Jonesborough, TN 37659.
