Donald Mullins April 4, 2024
KINGSPORT - Donald Mullins, 83, passed away peacefully at Holston Valley Medical Center April 4th, 2024.
He retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, as a Master Sargeant. He also worked for Holston Army Ammunition Plant in the early 1980's until he decided to retire.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzie and Mildred Mullins.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Marcella Mullins; daughters, Adina Frye and husband Lee, Debbie Stribling; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Mullins; sister, Sonnie Beverly and husband Earl; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 1 pm Monday, April 8, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick Meade officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 pm Monday, April 8, 2024 in the Mullins Family Cemetery, 126 Mildred Cemetery Rd, Clintwood, VA 24228 with the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team presiding. Everyone planning to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 3:15 pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Holston Valley Medical Center D500-ICU Nurses, Doctors, and personnel for their excellent comfort and care.
