Donna Fisher

November 2, 1944 -

February 10, 2026

Donna Gayle (Dooley) Fisher entered the Kingdom of Heaven on February 10th, 2026, following a lengthy illness. Donna was born on November 2nd, 1944, in Rockwood, TN. Growing up, she grew up in a little red brick house on Rosedale Avenue in Kingston, TN. She was one of the few little girls in the neighborhood and became quite the tomboy. During her childhood, she enjoyed water-skiing on Watts Bar Lake. Donna graduated from Roane County High School, where she played clarinet in the band and was a majorette in the marching band.

After high school, she enrolled in a secretarial program at The University of Tennessee Knoxville. While at UT, Donna met her future husband, Jim Fisher through the Christian Student Center at the UT. They married in 1964 and went on to live in California, Arkansas, and Tennessee before ultimately settling in Kingsport, TN. During those years, she worked part-time administrative roles across multiple stops, including Fort Ord Army Base (Monterey, CA), Kingsport Junior League (Kingsport, TN) and various insurance agencies while also raising three children and serving as a room mother at their school. After her children were raised, Donna moved to Kingston, TN and worked at ORNL Federal Credit Union while taking care of her own mother until retiring in 2008. In 2021, she moved to Richmond, VA, where she resided until her passing.

Donna was extremely strong in her faith and a devoted member of many churches through the years, including Northeast Church of Christ (Kingsport, TN), Kingston Church of Christ (Kingston, TN), and Glen Allen Church of Christ (Richmond, VA). She enjoyed spending time with her family, participating in Bible study with her friends, and was universally known for making incredible homemade mashed potatoes. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Flynn Dooley and Brooks Leslie Dooley Jr., as well as many special aunts. uncles and cousins that she grew up with along the way.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Andy Fisher (Jennifer), Mike Fisher (Jamie), and Beth Fisher Smith; grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Matthew Smith, Foard Fisher, Stella Fisher, and Grayson Fisher; cousins, Joe Dooley (Betty), and Sharon Turner along with all the friends she made along the way.
