KINGSPORT - Doris Jean Reaves, 83, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Doris was born on January 15, 1941, in Kingsport to parents William Howard and Beulah Thompson. She held a career with Eastman Chemical Company for 29.5 years working in the print shop. Doris was a believer of Jesus Christ and held a strong faith for her savior. She enjoyed spending time reading, searching for antiques, and vacationing at the beach. Doris loved her family and took care of her home and loved ones selflessly. There is no doubt that she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother who raised her, Gladys Gilreath Thompson.
Doris is survived by her husband of 41 years, Randal Reaves; daughter, Lisa "Tammy" Baker (George); son, Mark Tittsworth (Renee); special stepdaughter, Sharon Reaves; stepson, Ricky Reaves; stepdaughter, April Surratt; grandchildren, Jessica Bembry, Tabitha Baker, Tristan Tittsworth and Casey Cowden; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Baker, Liam Skelton, and Olivia Woolfrey; brother, Howard Gilreath; sister, Bessie Ann Salton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honor of Doris and her love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Mt. Mitchel Cemetery, 1068 Lloyds Chapel Rd., Mt. Carmel, TN 37645, with Pastor Jon Rogers officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:15 a.m.
