KINGSPORT - Dorothy Louise Bentley, 89, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 30, 2024, after a period of declining health.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Dorothy was loved by all who knew her.
She was an active member of Arcadia United Methodist Church for more than fifty years.
Dorothy retired from Sears following twenty-five years of service.
Home and family were most important to her, and she will be remembered as an excellent cook and homemaker.
Dorothy will also be remembered for her sense of humor and kindness to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Eva Walls Moore; siblings, Walter Moore, Jacob Moore, Harvey, Moore, Jr., Lovell Galloway, and Grace Matkins.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her husband of sixty-six years, George (Bill) Bentley; children, Amy Livesay (Terry), Terry Bentley, and Angie Bentley; grandchildren, Chris Livesay (Amanda), Brittany Livesay, Matthew Bentley, and Morgan Turner (Austin); great-grandchildren, Baylor, Bentlee, Charlie, Hadlee, and Henry; sister, Mary McGregor (Memphis); several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 6, 2024, 1:00-2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Regina Shelton officiating.
Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Amy, Terry and Angie- so sorry to hear of your mom´s passing. She always treated all of us with respect and kindness as we grew up in Rustic Hills together. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your dad.
