DUFFIELD, VA – Douglas Bradley Dillon, 50, beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend to all, passed into eternity on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Carilion Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. Surrounded by family.
Doug had received and accepted the free gift of Salvation offered by Jesus, and with that had received peace and desired to be delivered into his eternal home.
He was a lifetime resident of the Mabe Community of Scott County where he was involved in the Duffield Volunteer Fire Department. Those early years of his youth were spent serving his community and helping others. Early in his life he was self-employed running his Earth landscaping business and hauling crushed stone. During that time, he met and made countless lifetime friends. In more recent years he was employed at Tempur Production, LLC in Duffield. It was a job that he thoroughly enjoyed and loved the countless friendships forged there.
Doug was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Elizabeth Dillon; his maternal grandparents, Hascue and Virgie Miller.
Surviving are his parents, Harold and Audrie Dillon; brother, David Dillon and wife Tara; nephews and nieces, Caleb Dillon and wife Jessica, Colby Dillon and wife Grace, Jessie Dillon and Heidi Dillon; numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Dillon Cemetery, Mabe Community, with his brother, Evangelist David Dillon officiating. Music will be provided by Durhams Chapel Quartet.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at 1:00 pm at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Dillon, Colby Dillon, Jason Wood, Thomas Bowen, Matt Townsend and Chris Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fellow Employees of Tempur Productions, LLC along with Brad Bowen, Toby Hilton, Kelly Miller and other friends.
