KINGSPORT - Dwayne J. Brooks, 68, of Kingsport passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his home. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years. Dwayne retired from Terminix following 20 plus years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Edwards; parents, Carl and Thelma Brooks.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Debbie Brooks; sons, Chris Brooks and wife Tommie, Ryan Brooks and wife Amanda, Michael Brooks and wife Lauren; daughter, Heather Burke and husband Joel; grandchildren, Tyler, Gary, Matthew, Greenlee, Madisyn, Jane, Dylan, Gabe, and Shayla; sisters, Denise Welch and husband Ricky, and Dianna Brooks and Ricky; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor George Winegar officiating.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Morrison Chapel Cemetery honors will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House in his memory.
