JOHNSON CITY - Elden Wayne Kirk, 82, Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side.
A son of Lee County VA, he was born in Pennington Gap, VA and was a son of the late Wright and Dorothy Rigsby Kirk.
Wayne was a devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Lincoln Memorial University and went on to build a distinguished career as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He was the founder of Kirk and Fortner CPAs as well as Trinity Valuation Consulting Group.
Deeply committed to his community, Wayne served on numerous boards and held leadership roles, including past chairman of both the Eastman Credit Union and Wellmont. His dedication and generosity reflected his true passion-serving others with a kind heart and unwavering commitment.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue McCue Kirk; son, Jeffrey Kirk (Tracy); daughter, Luca Amy Ewart (Jared); grandchildren, Taylor Humphries, Micah Humphries, Deanna Silver, Richard Silver; brother, Wendell Kirk (Melissa); sisters, Glenna English, Zella Poe (Dr. Doug); several beloved nieces and nephews.
The celebration of life service for Wayne will be conducted Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. A reception will follow in the banquet room of the funeral home.
In-lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2343 Knob Creek Rd. Johnson City, TN 37604.
