ROGERSVILLE – Eleanor Louise Light, 82, of Rogersville, TN passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Louise was born in Sullivan Co. TN and was a lifelong resident of Rogersville. She was a member at Cedars Chapel. Louise loved her family more than anything and loved to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Light, Jr.; daughter, Debra Charlene Light; grandson, Dustin Jacob Matthews Light; parents, Earl and Bertie Sherfey; and her brothers, Orville Sherfey, and Stanley Sherfey.
Louise is survived by her sons, Roy Wayne Light (Nina), and Robert "Bobby" Light (Khristi); grandchildren, Heather Damron, Dustin Light (Natasha), Cheyenne Light (fiancé, Myron), Caitlin Light, Aaron Light (Diamond), Megan Drinnon (Tim); 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Orgie, and Billy Sherfey; sisters, Linda Mae Morrison and Ruth McNabb; several nieces, and nephews; as well as many extended family members, and dear friends.
The family would like to thank Louise's special caregivers, Kim and Danielle Honeycutt, and the nurses with Gentiva Hospice for the love and care given to Louise.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home, or anytime at Bobby's home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dan Dolen, and Rev. Dennis Spears officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Beulah Cemetery in Kingsport. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Light, Dustin Light, Joseph Light, Tim Drinnon, Myron Grizzle, Jason Light. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Blanken. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 AM.
