Elizabeth Harrell Obituary

KINGSPORT - Elizabeth Helena (Betty) Harrell, 87 of Kingsport was called home to her eternal reward on Saturday January 18, 2025 at Holston Valley Hospital. She was preceded in death by her two sons Leland & Michael Harrell. Parents Bascom and Susan Duncan. Sisters, Wanda Arnold, Joyce Craft, and Geraldine Davis. Her Brother, Paul Duncan.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of almost 63 years, Eugene "Gene" Harrell. Her daughter Rebecca "Becky" Smith. Her grandchildren: Timothy Harrell, Phyllisha Harrell (Rick), Hunter Jenkins (Crystal), Beth Harrell, and Eric Smith. Great grandchildren: Pia Fish, Alee Harrell, Keaton Russell, Lily Fleenor, Emma Harrell, Keegan & Bryson Jenkins, Kelsey Shelton, and twins Leland & Waylon Harrell whom she loved and adored.
Betty was known to the ones she cherished most as Mamaw. She lived her life devoted to being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; and she was. She would fix anything and everything one wanted to eat at any hour, although it might take her a while because she was not a magician. She loved sharing her philosophy and her legendary sayings will always be remembered. She was a Christian lady who enjoyed reading her Bible scriptures every day. She led her life being an example of faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was a shining light to everyone who met her and was the rock who held her family together. Mamaw will be greatly missed and remembered every day.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Monday, January 27, 2025 at East Lawn Mausoleum Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Tim Harrell officiating. Graveside service will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
