Elizabeth Milhorn Jones, 82, transitioned into the next life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
Elizabeth was born on April 6, 1941, the only child of Roy E. Milhorn and Sarah P. Brown Milhorn of Kingsport, Tennessee. She was raised on their farm, where they raised cattle and grew tobacco, vegetables, and apples.
She married her husband and life partner, Dallas Jones, in October 1962. They moved to Nashville, and later to Western Kentucky, where she worked at King Brothers in Draffenville, Kentucky, while raising their four sons.
After their sons were grown, Elizabeth and Dallas moved back to Tennessee, to be with her elderly mother. Here they would raise Texas Longhorn cattle for many years, while Elizabeth worked at Hamrick's Department Store.
Along with her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by: her loving husband of 46 years in 2008, Dallas Jones.
Those remaining to cherish the memory of Elizabeth include: four sons, Dallas Gregory Jones, Geoffrey Brian Jones, Christopher Dean Jones, and Daniel Kurtis Jones; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. As an only child, Elizabeth valued family above all, and she has left a legacy of over 30 descendants to carry on her memory and traditions.
A funeral service will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2023 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Her committal is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2023 in the Historic Section of the V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery.
