Ella Williams Obituary

Ella Kate Williams, a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died on Monday, December 30, 2024, after a short illness.
Ella Kate graduated from Shoemaker High School and the Wampler School of Beauty. She later completed accounting classes at Mountain Empire Community College and The University of Tennessee. She was a beautician and longtime owner of The Carousel Beauty Salon and Ella's Hairstyles. She cared for her patrons and friends with tender loving care.
Ella Kate was a member of and dedicated church pianist at Bellamy's Chapel United Methodist Church, and she also attended Alley's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scout den mother and actively involved herself in many community events through the years at Manville Community Center.
She enjoyed traveling, seeing new places and meeting people. An excellent cook, she enjoyed baking cakes and feeding anyone who was hungry. Her potato salad was famous.
Ella Kate loved her family, friends, pets and wanted the world to be a more beautiful place.
She was the daughter of Claude Barney Williams and Reba Nell Pendelton Williams.
In addition to her parents, Ella Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hansford Williams in 2003, after 50 years of marriage.
Ella Kate lovingly cared for her father and mother in their elderly years and remained beside her husband in his sickness.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward E. Williams of Kingsport, TN.
Ella Kate is survived by her sister, Stella Facemeyer and husband, Rodney of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren which includes her son, Michael Harold Williams and wife, Violet of Eagle River, AK; their children Michael Tracy Williams, and wife Tanya, of Anchorage, AK; and Travis Williams and wife, Jessica, of Wasilla, AK; their grandchildren, Shawn Michael Williams, Breana (James), Shawn, Nathan, Tobias and Wyatt Williams.
Her daughter, Valerie Lane and husband, Steve of Ft. Blackmore, VA; their son, Ryan Lane and wife, Jessica, of Henderson, NV.
Her son, Myron Williams of Gate City, VA; his children, Cara Allen and Myles Williams; and his grandchildren, Trent and Jada Williams.
Her son, Vernon Williams and wife, Shari of Kingsport, TN; and their children, Jared and Lauren Williams.
Her son, Byron Hal Williams of Kingsport, TN and his daughter, Katelyn Williams.
Ella Kate is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service for Ella Kate will be held at a later date.
The care of Ella Kate Williams and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.

Ella was such a wonderful person to be around. Some of my best memories were made sitting in the chair and Ella teasing my hair until it stood a foot into the air. We called them "the big hair days". The world needs more ladies like Ella.
