Elmer Lewis, Jr. (Elmo) died Monday April 17, 2023, at Holston Valley Hospital from complications of Type 1 Diabetes and a stroke.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steve Hall.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Coalson (Jeff) of Gray, Hope Morales (Ernie) of Gate City, Jessica Mottern (Matt) of Erwin, and Jennifer Taylor (Jonathan) of Kingsport. He was the proud "Paw" to his grandchildren, Emily Coalson, Sadie Coalson, Jocelyn Morales, Evelyn Morales, and Reid Mottern. His parents, Elmer Sr. and Chloe of Kingsport, brother David (LeeAnn) of Mt. Carmel and several nieces and nephews and his ex-wife and lifelong friend Sandra Cimonetti also survive.
Honoring Elmo's love of the outdoors, the family will receive friends at Eastman Cabins, Shelter 12 from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 22. Rev. Gary Gerhardt will share the Eulogy at 11 am.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.ORG), alivingtribute.org, or to the charity of your choice.
