LONE STAR COMMUNITY - Faye Mahaffey, 88, of the Lone Star Community, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, following an extended period of declining health. Faye was born in Kingsport where she had lived her entire life. She attended Solomon's Temple Missionary Baptist Church whenever she was able. Faye enjoyed quilting, her garden work, and loved to spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Shug Mullenix; husband, Billy Mahaffey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Stella Mahaffey; and sister, Ebie Morelock.
Faye is survived by her son, Alan Mahaffey and special friend, Amy Gregory; sister, Brenda Littleton; brother, Nate Mullenix; special great-great-nephew, Caden Farley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Solomon's Temple Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow with Bro. Dan Dolen and Dr. Bobby Bernard officiating.
Burial will follow at Solomon's Temple Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Alan...We are so sorry to hear about your Mom! We didn´t know anything about it till church this morning. We always loved to be around her...she could make you laugh! We are praying for comfort and peace in the days, weeks and months ahead. Again we are sorry we didn´t know anything about it. We would have certainly made a trip up there to show our respects! Would love for all of us to meet up somewhere sometime and share a meal together. You will truely be in our thoughts and prayers. Cherish the memories!
