Ford Quillen Obituary
January 18, 2026
KINGSPORT - The Honorable Ford C. Quillen (Ret.) passed away on January 18, 2026, while residing at Preston Place II, Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends from 12:00p.m.-2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with The Honorable Jeffrey S. Hamilton, Jim Thornton, and Cecil Dyer Quillen, Jr. officiating. Oscar Harris will provide the music.
Pallbearers will be Mike Thomas, Kris Forsha, T.J. Brown, Connor Brown, Marcus McClung, Mac McClung, Cam McClung, and Nolan Ray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Brown, Cecil D Quillen Jr, Cecil D Quillen, III Jim Thornton, Dr. Jerry Miller and The Honorable Charles (Butch) Flannagan.(Ret), and James Addington.
Gate City Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Ford Carter Quillen.

My deepest condolences to the family of Ford Quillen. My family adored him-especially my Father, Ford Hubble, who always said that Ford would be someone who would be instrumental in helping the people of Southwest Virginia. I will ever be grateful to Ford and his wonderful Father for taking care of everything legally when my family passed.

Ford was truly a "Southern Gentleman" ! Southwest Virginia was fortunate to have a man of his character represent us anywhere he went! This world needs more men like him!

Words cannot express my gratitude and love for Ford. He was the smartest man I ever met and cared for everyone he served as an outstanding member of the VA legislature helping all of us in Lee, Scott, and Wise counties. I was honored to work a long side of him in the law practice for many years. My deepest condolences to his wonderful family,
