Frances McKee Miller June 23, 2024 KINGSPORT - Frances McKee Miller, 95, of Kingsport departed this life on June 23, 2024. Born in Telford, TN and raised in Limestone, she grew up working on her family's farm and graduated high school from Washington College Academy. She attended East Tennessee State College and received a BS degree in Education and certification to teach high school. After college, she moved to Kingsport and was employed at Tennessee Eastman Company as an executive secretary in the Research Laboratories before leaving the paid workforce to start her family.
Frances was an active member of Preston Hills Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she enjoyed singing with the choir and serving as an elder. Over the years, she has volunteered her time to various projects including Exchange Place and Holston Valley Community Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and her goal was to see as much of God's creation as she could - she didn't want to miss anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Mae McKee; brother, Charles McKee; sister, Mary Ruth Bowery; and the father of her children, Charles A. (Andy) Miller.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Kay Barrow and husband Jay of Darien, GA, and her son, Ben Miller and wife Veronica of Chattanooga, TN.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am- 12:00pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rich Fifield officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Wesley U.M.C. Cemetery, Telford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Exchange Place, 4812 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN, 37664, www.exchange placetn.org and/or Preston Hills Presbyterian Church, 4701 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN 37664, www. prestonhills.church.
