Fred Kilgore Obituary

Fred Kilgore passed from this life and entered into his heavenly home on Friday, February 6, at Holston Manor Nursing Home. Fred was a faithful member of Christ Church Kingsport, which he helped to build 71 years ago. He was best friends with Pastor Richard Dice, and his wife, Rose Dice. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company. Surviving are his special nieces; Velma Peters and Nancy Cole; and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Kilgore; mother, Bertha Kilgore; father, Isaac Kilgore; sisters, Estel Marshall, Mrs. Ralph Evans, Margaret Ann Kilgore, and his brothers, Milbourne Kilgore, J.W. Kilgore, Glenn Kilgore, and Jimmy Kilgore. Committal Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, at 2:00 at East Lawn Funeral Home in the chapel. East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to take care of Mr. Fred Kilgore and his family and friends at this time.

Oh my goodness! I worked with Fred for several years. I was the helper on the truck he operated for so long. He would bring banana and mayonnaise sandwiches for lunch and tried to convince me that they were delicious. Every day after lunch he would park his truck and we would work the cross word puzzle in the newspaper for that day. It´s been many years but some of my best days at Eastman were spent working with Fred. He always talked about his wife and told me how beautiful she was and how much he loved her. Precious memories!

I met fred at kings highway temple years ago. He was such a nice man always with the smile on his face. He was so kind to everyone he knew and so loved by all. I haven't seen fred in years, but i've always kept him And nell in my thoughts and prayers, Fred loved the lord and served him faithfully, I can think of him and it puts a smile on my face,RIP

What a special saint God allowed us to know. To know Fred was to love him for you knew he loved you. Fred was well thought of during his work career. Fred never missed the opportunity to let you know that he knew Jesus as his personal savior. May God Bless the entire family.
