Freda Church Obituary

GATE CITY, VA - Freda (Lynn) Church, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Gate City on May 27, 2025, following an extended illness.
Lynn loved God, her family, friends, and animals. Music was also a passion of Lynn's, but she was best known by her family to be an enthusiastic QVC shopper. Lynn retired from First American Bank after serving as a teller at the Lynn Garden branch for many years. She will be remembered for her kindness, having a beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Claude (Todd) Starnes and Faye Darnell Starnes: brother, Charlie Starnes and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 67 years, Audley Church; daughter, Debbie (Church) Skelton and her husband, Vim; sister-in-law, Sharon Starnes; special nephew, Chris Starnes; special cousin and caregiver Billy Ray Hackney; special friend and caregiver, Lesa Ryan. The family is grateful to Margie Smith, Kay Folden, MaKenna Miller and Cameron Andrews that has provided care for Lynn and Audley in recent months.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Rev. Riley Boy officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
