Freida Lane Obituary

WISE, VA - Freida Craft Lane, 77, on Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2023, quietly passed away from this earthly life to a Heavenly Life.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. Freida was a wonderful role model with her life and lifestyle. Her belief in God and dedication to Church, her love for family and friends was shown daily. She touched many lives with her loving ways and faithfulness in church and participation. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Berlon Lane; her parents, Lindsey and Lillie Craft; brothers, Delano Lynn and wife Debbie, Glenn and Jerry Craft.

She is survived by her children, David Lane and wife Vicki of Norton, VA, Julia Lane of Wise, Kim Kilgore and husband Dana of Glasgow, VA, Regina Mullins and husband Jerry of Wise, Rebecca Richardson and husband Steven of Wise and Neal Lane of Wise; a special nephew, Stacey Craft and wife Roni of Gilbert, AZ (who she raised after his parents passed away),

Freida was a proud grandmother to Abbie Rutherford, Gretchen Gurmu, Austin Lane, Colton Kilgore, Allison Watson, Ashley Mullins, Lucus and Brandon Richardson and Eden Lane; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Ezra Rutherford; sister, Amarylis (Amy) Rolen; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Craft and Ella Craft of Wise.

Funeral services for Freida Lane will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA with Pastor Ralph Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in Wise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till the time of services at 2:00 P.M. at Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.
