George Gray Obituary
June 30, 2025
JONESBOROUGH - George Gray, 65, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 30, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in the Harmony community, he lived there his entire life. George worked for over 30 years at Kingsport Press/Arcata Graphics and in his spare time he loved farming where he could often be found on a tractor with a pair of cut off jeans. He also enjoyed going to the beach, the lake, fishing, camping and NASCAR; he lived a life of simple pleasures. George's presence was a gift to all who knew him.
First and foremost in George's life, were God and his family, especially supporting his grandchildren. He was always present for T-ball, golf, chorus, cow shows, chicken shows, graduation, church or school events… family was everything.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Betty Gray; and fathers-in-law, Bruce Richardson and David Bright.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 40 years, Lisa Gray; children and their spouses, Lindsey Harris (Justin) and Landon Gray (Brooke); grandchildren, Addie and Jase "Bubby" Harris, Kylee, Ellie and Emma Gray; mother-in-law, Jewel Richardson Cox (Leon); and his life long best friend, Todd Wheelock.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church (1177 Harmony Rd, Jonesborough). Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pate officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Todd Wheelock, Rick Gray, Scott Mathes, Jacob Mathes, Bryan Hulse, Greg Davis, Austin Korte and Jeff Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Holden, Bernie Gray, John Gray, Doug Gray, Jackie Gray, Robbie Gray and Leon Cox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kari's Heart Foundation, Inc., 701 N. State of Franklin Rd. #14, Johnson City, TN 37604 or Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 1166 Harmony Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
