George Massey Obituary
KINGSPORT - George "Pete" Massey, age 91, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. Pete Loved playing Bluegrass music with the Over the Hill Gang and Bays Mountain Quartet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Massey; wife Eula King Dykes Massey; son, Randy Massey; stepson, Ellis Edward Dykes, Jr.; stepdaughter, Sandra Dykes Price; sister, Mary Ellen Bradley; brother, Troy Massey and grandson, Joby Massey. He is survived by his sons, Billy (Angel) Massey and Jody Massey of Newport; stepdaughter, Patty Dykes Bragg (Michael) Kingsport; sister, Magdaline Shults of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Nathaniel Bragg and Deacon Bragg of Kingsport, Jessica Stuart of Newport, Kelli Price of Kingsport, Michael and Brandon Massey of Newport. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Matthew Yokley officiating. Burial will follow in Big Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at: www.manesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Manes Funeral Home.
