DUFFIELD, VA - Calvin Gerald McDavid Duffield, VA, 85, entered into eternal rest to be with his heavenly Father, Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Heritage Hall, in Big Stone Gap, VA.
He was born in Scott County, VA, on June 18, 1938, to the late Clifton and Lina McDavid.
In addition to his parents, his wife Mary Carole Roach McDavid; and a sister, Janivee roach, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Beulah Bishop, Duffield, VA, Wanda Bishop, Church Hill, TN, Anita (Doug) Jones, Duffield, VA, Dremia Smith, and Charlotte (Delmas) Lane; Church Hill, TN; brothers, Bruce (Nell) McDavid, Duffield, VA, Vernon (Doris) McDavid, Duffield, VA, and Samuel (Karen) McDavid, Duffield, VA; caretakers, Henry and Mary Roach; special nephews, Anthony, and Travis Roach; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, January,12, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Vernon McDavid officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the McDavid Family Cemetery, 1243 Cliff Mtn. Way, Duffield, VA. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery, at 10:45 a.m., for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the home of Henry and Mary Roach at any time.
