Glenn Kenner Head

February 11, 1938 -

October 31, 2024

Glenn Kenner Head, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on February 11, 1938, in Scott County, Virginia, he was the beloved son of Lee and Sarah (Ervin) Head.

Glenn was a devoted husband to Faye Head for 61 remarkable years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a family grounded in love, faith, and mutual respect. Glenn was a loving father to his daughter Kristy Overbey and son Trevor Head (Jody), always providing guidance and support. As pappaw, he cherished his moments with his grandchildren: Baylee Head, Payton Marshall, Casey Jones, Grayson Jones, and Chapel Head, where he consistently showed his boundless love and pride in their achievements. Sister-in-law, Diane Robinson and brothers-in-law Doyle Robinson and Richard Chapman were also dear to him, along with several nieces and nephews. His special buddies, Nicole, Lelia, Caleb, and Tristin also held a unique place in his heart.

A man of deep spirituality, Glenn was known for sharing God's love with others, inspiring everyone who knew him. He was loved and admired by many for his unwavering faith and compassionate nature. His life was a testament to the power of faith. He challenged those around him to strive for their best selves and never hesitated to help those in need, often giving selflessly to others.

Glenn dedicated over 30 years of his career to the Acetate Yarn Department at Eastman Chemical Company until retired.

His legacy will live on through the stories he shared and the cherished memories of those fortunate enough to know him. Glenn will be remembered as a loving husband, father, pappaw, uncle, and friend.

In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by eight siblings, leaving behind a rich tapestry of family history and love. His impact on the lives of his family and friends will endure a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
