Glenna Warner March 1, 1951 - September 16, 2024
Glenna Warner, lovingly known as Gigi, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness. Born on March 1, 1951, Gigi's life was defined by her servant's heart and deep love for her family and friends. She was a nurse, homemaker, and an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister (sissy) and friend who always made others feel seen and heard. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she fiercely supported in every aspect of their lives. Regardless of one's station in life, Gigi's love was unconditional.
Gigi was a devoted wife to her husband of 54 years, Mike, and a loving mother to her daughter, Sonja Bennett. She also adored her son-in-law, Ron, and her grandchildren, Hannah, Courtney, Zane, Michael, Rachel, and Laken. She was the best protector and guide for her family.
Gigi's adventurous spirit shone through in her love of hunting for the Funfest medallion each year and in the many travels she shared with Mike. She is preceded in death by her granny, Eliza Salyer, and mother, Edna Salyer Roseberry. She was survived by her younger siblings, Kathy Goode, Brenda Painter, and Ronnie Salyer.
Her empathy, strong will, selflessness, and unwavering support touched countless lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she loved.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor David Salley officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Old Kingsport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hannah Whitson, Courtney Whitson, Zane Whitson, Michael Bennett, Rachel Bennett, Ron Bennett and Jimmy Taylor. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
