MOUNTAIN CITY - Gloria Jean Miller, 78, of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024.
After a prolonged illness, Miss Gloria Jean Miller passed away at the age of 78. She was born in Kingsport, TN in 1945. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. She pursued a career in education and taught school for several years at Gravely Elementary School.
She is preceded in death her parents, John Dickson Miller and Frances Gray Miller.
She is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Miller Hicks and Elaine Miller Smoot; her brother-in-law, Calder G. Smoot; her niece, Lorie Hicks; her niece and husband, Brittany Hicks Wilson and Jonathan Wilson; her nephew, John Calder Smoot; and her great niece, Isabelle "Izzy" Wilson; extended family includes an aunt and uncle, Shirley and Joe Shipley; aunt, Patricia Miller, and several cousins.
She will be laid to rest at Gunning's Cemetery in Blountville, TN on Saturday March 16th at 2:00 pm.
