Harold Poe Obituary

Harold Lee Poe passed away comfortably at home on December 4th, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Berwind, West Virginia on October 19th, 1933. Harold resided in Kingsport, Tennessee most of his life.

Harold was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and a United States Army veteran. He was a former teacher and coach in the Bristol, Virginia School System from 1958-1966. He retired from Arcata Graphics, Inc. in 1991.

Harold is survived by his wife, Anne Natalie Poe; children Rebecca Graham and husband Terry, Steve and wife Caroline, Jonathan and partner Denise, Gorton and wife Rekha; grandchildren Stephanie (posthumously) and husband Charles, Melissa, Eric and wife Halie, Justin and fiancé Amber, Jared and wife Emily, Audra, Andrew, Zachary and wife Rita, Charleston, Hastings, and Anya; great-grandchildren Sawyer, Nash and Rowan. He is survived by one brother, Gary Poe and wife Sandra.

Harold loved gardening and landscaping, working on his land in Clinchport, Virginia, and spending time with his family. He was affectionately known as "Big Daddy" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harold was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Kingsport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 2505 Nathan Street, Kingsport, TN 37664.

The Poe Family would like to recognize Melissa and Katie of Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for their excellent care during Harold's final days.

Interment will be at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Kingsport. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
