KINGSPORT - Helen Jean Harris, 95, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Born in Ft. Blackmore, VA, on August 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Leonard and Boby Brickey, she had resided in this area most of her life. She graduated from Sullivan High School before marrying Charles Raymond Harris on September 26, 1946. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who loved to cook, sew, quilt and craft. Helen enjoyed people, having company, and attending family reunions. She was multi-talented and could do anything from repairing roofs to sewing complete outfits. Helen loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Harris.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Marcella "Marci" Ann Harris Clark and husband Billy J. Clark; sons, Charles "Lance" Harris and wife Jackie, and Leonard "Len" B. Harris; grandchildren, Alana Huddleston and husband Chad, Troy Clark and wife Tracy, Lisa Smith and husband Shawn, Landon Harris and wife Holly, Ashley Murphy and husband Tyson, Kelsey Harper and husband Dustin, Samantha Bryant and husband Nick, and Joy O'Neal; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Wayne Harris and wife Peggy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Mike Driver officiating.
Graveside services will be Monday, February 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Clark, Nick Bryant, Eli Huddleston, Evan Huddleston, Tyson Murphy, Landon Harris, Dustin Harper, Chad Huddleston and Carter Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Tennessee at alztennessee.org.
