BLOUNTVILLE - Herbert Jackson Denton Jr., of Blountville, TN age 83 passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. A graveside service for Herbert will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664.

Heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family. It was a privilege to work with Herb in the early 70´s, as a student engineer. Herb´s calm professionalism and humility, along with his sense of humor, made a strong and lasting impression.

I just saw this and am so sorry to hear this! I´m grateful for such a great neighbor and all he did for Brady and I. We are so heartbroken that we didn´t know to go to the funeral. His family is in our hearts and prayers?

Herb had become a special friend recently, but I had remembered his service to our county from previous years. He truly exemplified a servant of God in so many ways over the years. I will miss the times we have shared, but am confident he is rejoicing with his Savior.

We knew Herb from LifePoint Church. Sunday School. He will be missed by the men at Breakfast meeting on Thursday morning.. He will surely be missed.
