Howard Light Obituary
FALL BRANCH - Howard Light, 81, of Fall Branch, went to his heavenly home on Monday, December 11, 2023. Howard retired from AFG-Greenland. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, where he was active in the choir, custodian, grounds keeper and his greatest joy was driving the church bus during Vacation Bible School. Howard was very instrumental in helping build back the church in 2004-2005. His proudest accomplishment of all was receiving Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1991.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lena Light; three brothers, C. J., Lonnie and Carl; and one sister, Pauline.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Teresa Light; daughters, Robin Bragg and husband Tim, Lisa Bear; two grandchildren, Matt Bear and Alex Bear; one great-granddaughter, Macy Bear; sister, Lora Morelock; special friends, Jamie Byington and James Forbis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to all of his caregivers including Sullivan County EMS and the Sullivan West Volunteer EMS for the great care that they gave to Howard.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dan Dolen and Pastor Calvin McCray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends, with honorary pallbearers, Wayne Cowden, A. D. Jones, Jimmy Hensley and Gary Lane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 449 Church Road, Fall Branch, TN 37656 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
