CHURCH HILL - Howard Lee Snapp, 83, of Church Hill passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center
He was born August 4, 1941, in Hawkins County, TN.
Howard was a loving, caring, and comical man who was very protective of his family. He was a hard worker, enjoyed helping others, and he never met a stranger.
He was employed as a diesel mechanic.
Howard enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, race cars, and loved animals.
He attended Emmaus of Kingsport and was baptized there several years ago.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, John Snapp and Sally Baily Snapp; his son, Jody Howard Snapp; and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish Howard's memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Lucille Hodges Snapp; daughters, Traci Snapp and Marti Trent (Ricky); grandchildren, Jonathan Byrd (Becky), Josh Byrd, Elesha Dorazio (Joe), Kayla Gilreath, Kourtnie Gilreath, and Dakota, Zane, Zach, Weston, and Ashley Mullins; great-grandchildren, Carson, Ryder, Addison, Rylie, Emma, Jase, and Sophie; sister, Sue Bradley; special friend, Joe Bussell; and Richard Byrd, who was like a son; and Mary Ellen Byrd, who was like a daughter.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 pm with Dr. Phil Kidd officiating.
Graveside Service will follow at 4:00 pm at McPheeters Bend Cemetery, Church Hill, TN. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Howard's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting, www.stjude.org

Howard always had a good word for his neighbors. He was funny and always made you laugh. He will be greatly missed in our community. So sorry for your loss. Prayers for Peace and acceptance for the family.
