ROGERSVILLE - Hubert Clinton Hagood, age 89, went to be with his heavenly Father on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1934. Clinton was a lifelong native of Rogersville. He attended Ebbing Flowing Spring Grade School and Rogersville High School where he met his wife, Aileen. Clinton and Aileen were married October 25, 1954 and spent the next 70 years raising their 2 children and enjoying life together surrounded by grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Clinton served in the US Navy from 1957-1961 and was proud to have served in the Honor Guard during Queen Elizabeth's first state visit to the US in 1957. Following his time in the Navy, he went on to work as a Mechanical Supervisor with Dodge Industrial, Inc and retired in 1999. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and Overton Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Eliza Hagood; brothers, Heiskell (Pauline), Raymond (Versanoa), Ed (Betty), and Roy; sisters, Ruth (Stanley) Greene, Mary (Bud) Hamblen, and Helen (Maurice) Greer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Aileen; daughter, Deanna (Tom) Buck; son, Levi Hagood; granddaughters, Ashley (Jay) Mullins, Summer (Jesse) Kenner, and Natalee Long; grandson, Kalen Hagood; 6 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 15 at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Keith Osborne officiating. If you plan on attending, please meet at the cemetery by 1:45pm. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.christiansells.com
