CHURCH HILL - Mrs. Ilene Way, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Ilene was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, TN and was of the Methodist faith. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Arnold Hutson; husband, Barney Way; and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Way Hammons (Dan); sons, Jeff Way (Keri), and Larry Way; grandson, Daniel Way; sister, Gladys Mowdy; brother, James F. Hutson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dewayne Chappell officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
