Imogene Nunley "Gene" (Stanley) Bailey June 26, 2024
DUFFIELD, VA - Imogene Nunley "Gene" (Stanley) Bailey, 80, of Duffield went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born in Scott County, VA to the late Arthur and Ida Stanley. Gene was a devoted Christian and attended many churches in the area. She enjoyed the outdoors especially in her camper with friends Phyllis and Lawrence Coffee. Gene worked for Dent K. Burke Associates for over 40 years before her retirement in 2020. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her son, Wayne Nunley; second husband, Junior Bailey.
Survivors include her son, Robbie Nunley; grandchildren, Chris Nunley, T-Sheena Nunley Coomer, Dedra Johnston and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Abbigail Nunley, Kylee Coomer, Olivia Coomer, Abby Coomer, Landon Forrester, Lexi Johnston, and Jax Johnston; brother, Harold Stanley and wife Phyllis; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Terry Rhoton officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Stanley Family Cemetery in Rye Cove. 13831 Hunters Valley West Rd. Duffield, VA 24244. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.

Imogene and her wonderful family lived just down the road from Phil. He said they ran up and down the valley, played in the barn, skipped across the small branch that ran down the meadow and had so many wonderful times. We all went to Stanleytown School; they all walked down the valley to get to school. She was a great friend and will be remembered in our hearts.
