Jack W. "Nicky Brown" Anderson

GATE CITY, VA - Jack W. "Nicky Brown" Anderson, Jr., age 63, of Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord, where he was met by his dad on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 while at Indian Path Community Hospital after an illness.
Jack was born in Kingsport, TN a son of Patricia (Pinky) Brown Anderson and the late Jack Waltern Anderson, Sr. He was a graduate of Gate City High School and was a member of the football team. Well known in the community, he was a landscaper and general laborer. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but carried thru life the memories and lifelong bonds that only Blue Devil football could afford.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack Sr., his paternal grandparents; Walt and Maggie Anderson. His maternal grandfather; Clifford Hughes. Brother; William "Buckwheat" Anderson. His heart daughter; Shyanne Bishop. Uncles; Clifford Hughes, Jr and Joe Douglas "JD" Anderson. Aunt; Thelma Anderson and his fur baby; Kobe Brown Anderson.
Those left to mourn his passing: Daughter; Whitney Kasongo (Ali), Mother; Patricia "Pinky" Anderson, Brothers and Sisters; Joe Anderson (Sharon), Troye Anderson (Renay), Contrinia Payne (Bob), Danielle Dailey (boyfriend Jason Light), Tyrone Anderson (Valerie), Terry Thorpe and Jonikki Cope.
Grandkids; Elijah, Caden, Xavier and Allijah. Nieces and Nephews; Lindsey Anderson, Bryson Anderson, Olivia Hoyle, Adrianna Lane, Grayson Sproles, Seth Hale, Tihlee Anderson, Declan Anderson, Emma Edmonds and Shaniquah Mack. Special Cousins; Marcus Hughes and Jada McGee. Special Aunts; Belinda Brown and Joni Hughes. Special Uncles; Offeyett Robinette, Norbett Robinette (Jackie) and Jimmy Hughes (Pam). Best friends; Brian Gibson, Ronnie Begley, Gordon Wood and John Broadwater.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1PM until 3PM at Gateway Baptist Church, 155 Shady Elm Lane, Weber City, VA. Following at 3PM with be a Homegoing Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Rick Begley and Rev. Roschelle Maxwell officiating. It was Nicky's request to be cremated and the family has honored his wish. It is the families request that you honor his memory by taking time to reflect upon the memories made down thru life and knowing the joy he had in them.
