ROGERSVILLE - James D. Allen, age 80, of Rogersville, formerly of Cadiz, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Rogersville. He was a retired teacher and principal from the Hawkins County School System following forty years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill. He enjoyed eating breakfast and playing golf with his buddies on Thursdays.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Naomi Allen and brother, Alvis Allen.
He is survived by his daughter, April Myers and husband Charles; grandchildren, Anna and Carl Myers; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cherokee High School, C/O CTE Fund, 2927 Hwy 66, Rogersville, TN 37857.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow in Highland Cemetery with Rev. Gary Gerhardt and Mitch Russell officiating. Online condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com.
