KINGSPORT - James "Robbie" Bowling, 67, of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his home.
Robbie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He was a volunteer Firefighter and EMT at Gate City VFD and also served on the rescue ski patrol at Snowshoe and Beech Mountain. He was an avid boat and lake enthusiast. Robbie co-owned and operated Bowling Floor Covering, with his brother Bill, for 25 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harry and Cecile Quillen Bowling.
Robbie is survived by his son, Justin Bowling and wife Kayla of Weber City, Virginia; granddaughter, Wren River Bowling, brother, William "Bill" Bowling III and wife Toni of Yuma, Virginia; sister, Carolyn Bowling of Knoxville, Tennessee; aunt and uncle, Earl and Shirley K. Franklin of Knoxville, Tennessee; niece, Laura McDavid of Knoxville, Tennessee; special friends, Toby Murph, Cliff McCarly, Vince Morano, Bruce Carter and many other friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robbie and my husband Don Strong were friends along time, and Robbie was a good businessman, when we had him and his brother Bill do some business for, both great guys. Sorry for your loss, May God comfort you during this difficult time,
