"Ranger Man/Ancient Mariner" James Chandler will be sorely missed. He was the best fisherman and picnicker I ever met. From the moment we met we hit it off like old pals. Who would have known a purchase of used fly fishing gear was just the beginning of our friendship. We began bass fishing together in his Ranger boat on South Holston Lake and Watauga Lake each spring. During these trips we talked for hours about investing, cooking, sometimes fishing, but most importantly our loved ones. He loved Carolyn more than anything in this world and would tell anyone he met how lucky he was that she kept him around. He was always quick to offer good advice and occasionally a funny quip. "Why do today what you can put off `til tomorrow?" he´d tell me when I´d have an obligation keeping me from joining him on the Ranger for a fishing trip. We spent a lot of time together those first several years and less more recently now that life has gotten busy and I´ve moved away and have a family of my own. However, I will always remember the times and the conversations we had by the river, in the boat, or anywhere else I was lucky enough to hang with my pal. `Til we meet again Ancient Mariner.
