James "Jim" Eads September 20, 2024
James "Jim" Eads 83 entered into his Heavenly home on September 20, 2024.
A native of Sullivan Co. He was the son of the late John C. and Mary Helen (Calhoun) Eads. Jim was a hardworking man who loved the Lord, his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim was a drywall finisher for W.D Harless for many years before going to work for J. Mark Ceilings and Drywall, where he continued to work until his retirement.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Janet Sue (Smith) Eads; brother, John C. Eads Jr.; sisters, Mary Lou Samples, Janette Goins, Marty Dye, Pat Sexton and Linda Gillenwater; sister-in-law, Shirley Eckert; and brother-in-law, Burnis Rogers.
He is survived by his daughter Stacie (Eads) Castle (Jimmy) Church Hill, James Eads (Jo) and Eddie Eads of Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rogers, and Tink Shade of Ohio; brothers-in-law, Jim Gillenwater of Kingsport, and Butch Smith (Joann), and Larry Eckert all of Ohio; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Josh, Ian, Christian, Jacob and Nevaeh; ten great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended Family.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Amedysis Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our father. Megan, you were angel in our time of need. God Bless You.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or anytime at Stacie's home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Morelock officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Eads, James Eads, Josh Bailey, Ian Bailey, Terry Sexton, Jerry Sexton, Gary Fortner, and Shade Webb. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Baines, Mark Kelly, and Danny Christian.
