James Christopher "Chris" Egan

KINGSPORT - James Christopher "Chris" Egan, 50, of Kingsport, received his ultimate healing from cancer and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Chris was born and resided in Kingsport, TN and was raised in Rye Cove, VA.

He attended Sunrise Baptist Church, and Chris was employed at Tidewater Transit for 20 years.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Egan; grandparents, Kelly and Nannie Jane Bishop, and Emmett and Tease Egan; aunts, Wanda Dockery, Joann Egan, and Kathy Egan; uncles, Lee Egan, Jim Statzer, and Bill Dockery; father and mother-in-law, Darrell and Almeda Honaker; uncle, Steve Honaker; and cousin, Pete Sloan.

Those left to cherish Chris' memory are the love of his life, Brittany Egan and son, Ethan Page; father and best friend, Billy Egan; brothers-in-law, Brian (Candace) Honaker, Brent (Aylah) Honaker; sister-in-law, Michelle Falardeau; aunts, Geneva Williams (Melvin), Shirley Statzer, Martha Burton, Debbie Sloan (William), Wilma Sloan, Lou Tipton, and Virgie Rhoton; special aunt, Alfreda Honaker, and Pam (Mike) Browder; uncles, Guy Tipton, Jack Tipton; nieces and nephews, Lilyannah and Zinniah Honaker, Christopher, Jacob, Crimson, Zoe, Nevaeh Falardeau; other family members, Scott Folden (special brother), Scott, Lisa (special sister), Madison, and Dylan Cowan, Jason and Natasha Peek, and Roy Morelock (second Dad).

Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm with the service beginning at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

The Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Christus. Family and Friends attending the graveside are asked to meet at 10:15 am at Oak Hill Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Preachers will be JE Mauk and Linnis France.

The singers will be Carolyn Carter, Roy and Julie Morelock, Theresa Crawford, Debbie Vaughn, and Dave Puckett.

Those serving as pallbearers, Ethan Page, Billy Egan, Scott Folden, Roy Morelock, Nathan Backman, Brian Honaker, Brent Honaker, Scott Cowan, Dylan Cowan, Dave Arnold, Jason Peek, Mike Browder, Shannon Wallen, and Ronnie Crawford.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, and the nurses on the 3rd floor of Holston Valley, along with Dennis Nunley at Oak Hill Funeral Home for taking such good care of Chris.

We have known Chris as long as we can remember. While going to church together at Clinchport, Chris drew my name one Christmas. I still have the gifts he purchased for me. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
