James Garnett Fleenor

June 7, 2025

KINGSPORT - James Garnett Fleenor 89, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Kingsport to the late Bert and Zella Fleenor. James served his country in the United States Army. After graduating from business school he spent most of his career in Nashville in the banking industry before retiring to Kingsport in the late 90's.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Roy Fleenor.

Survivors include his nephews, Gary Fleenor and wife Angie and David Fleenor and wife Lisa; sister-in-law, Marlene Fleenor; great nieces, Kaylin, Kayci, Caroline, and Chloe Fleenor; great nephew, Carter Fleenor; beloved cat, Emily; along with several cousins.

A military graveside service will be conducted at 12pm on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating and military honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50am.
