James Ford Obituary

KINGSPORT - James Earl Ford, 86, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023.

He was born in Harriman, TN, in 1936. He graduated class of 1954 from Lynn View High School. He and his high school sweetheart, Irene, married on November 21st, 1956, at the La Mesa Baptist Church in La Mesa, CA. After the wedding, they moved to San Diego, CA, where they lived until returning to Kingsport in 1959. Upon returning to Kingsport, he worked at Eastman as an Electrical Engineer for 37 years, retiring in 1997. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Irene Ford; parents, James Earl Ford Sr. and Irene Easter Ford; brother, David Ford; sister, Carmen Richardson.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Michael Ford and fiancé Susan Cooper; grandson, James Ford and wife Karman (Nashville, TN); granddaughter, Malise Ford; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be private.
